Ride for a Reason Help Us End Youth Homelessness SHIP believes in the power and positive impact of education that will alter the trajectory of a life. Operating at the intersection of education and homelessness, SHIP works to reduce barriers to academic attainment for youth experiencing homelessness by connecting them to community, resources, and youth-centric programming, while advocating for equality in the systems that serve young people. SHIP provides relief and support to the thousands of Maryland’s youth who experience homelessness each year. Working in tandem with public school systems, human service agencies and advocates, we are strictly focused on providing for these children in need. Poverty and youth homelessness are pervasive within America, and our Maryland’s young people are not immune. They exist in every city, town, village and hamlet within Maryland. This issue cuts across all grades and all ethnicities. And the numbers continue to grow each school year. With your help and support, we can work to provide these children with the things they need to help them lead normal lives. Things like clothing, and shoes, and food, and the ability to participate in activities like their peers. Youth homelessness isn’t going away, but when caring cyclists unite, and align ourselves to help and support these children, wonderful things can happen for us all – especially for these children in need.
