Not sure I have ever really been into “endurance sports”, although I started doing Century bike rides just to see how it would go. I’ve enjoyed them and have probably done 30 in total. What forms of cycling do you participate in now? I ride a road bike, a mountain bike, and a gravel bike Why do you ride now? For fitness, the camaraderie and I love being outdoors. What advice would you have offer to those just getting in to endurance sports? Find and make friends and acquaintances that will reach out to you, and you to them, to spur you on, even when you’re not feeling it. What have been some of your positive personal experiences from participating in endurance sports? The camaraderie has been unexpected and awesome. I’m now a member of a wide-ranging age group of active people that have become dear friends. What are some of your challenges? Motivating myself when I’m tired or sore, that’s when the camaraderie helps. What single piece of encouragement would you offer to a young person experiencing homelessness? There are people available to help if you’re willing to give them a chance.
